Also, remember that you must have a Physical Exam (basically a sports physical) prior to attending summer camp. A recent nationwide study reported that Eagle Scouts have a positive, lasting influence on American Society. The study reported that "those who attain Scouting's highest rank" have enhanced "values, ethics, decision making, relationships and personal development," and have a "significant, positive impact ... on society every day."

We will attend summer camp at Walter Scout Camp at Horseshoe Bend at El Rancho Cima, located near Wimberley, Texas. The dates are June 24th thru 30th. El Rancho Cima features opportunities for horseback riding, shooting sports, backpacking, outdoor skills training, and more. The Rough Rider High Adventure program for older scouts consists of the following: real rock rappelling, zip lining, horseback riding, wilderness survival, dug-out (mine shaft) overnighter, paint ball, blacksmithing and more.
